To SPAD or not to SPAD?

Since February last year, I’ve been working non-stop on a technology called Single Photon Avalanche Diodes (SPADs). They’re quite fascinating things really, and once the (26-thousand word) dissertation is out the way, I’m thinking of publishing a few free posts about them.

I think that they’ll be aimed at an audience which knows roughly how electronics works, but isn’t by any means an expert. I’ll keep it (mostly) equation free. There will be PICTURES!
