Tonight I did something amazing. A First!

Not a World First

Not a Server First

Not even a Week First

… but a First, all the same;

Tonight I killed Madness of Deathwing Heroic. This is a First. The first time I’ve killed a heroic mode endboss. It was late, messy, the last attempt of the week. It’s after everybody else. Nobody else cares, but… it’s a First. For me. For our guild, <The Silver Raven>. Our First.

You know what?

All the grind, the pain, the minmaxing. Putting up with all the complaints and the DPS standing in fire. You know what?

You know what .. nothing takes away the real pleasure that you get from finishing a boss you have really worked on as a team for ages , I really think completing these big shared goals are what both cements a guild and keeps up coming back week after week getting our asses kicked.

Kudos for managing to keep a team motivated until the very end , wow burnout hit hard everywhere . I really hope that your team all got this achievement because i warn you getting everyone back together to do this again will be a major challenge.

Finishing an expansions heroic content before the level cap was something my team managed to do this time round as well and it felt great to kick back and earn some well deserved RnR from raids , hope you get to do the same even if it is only for a week or two

anyway GratZ from another “surrey” based Resto Shaman student.

Hehe, glad to know that there are other actual people out there who do the same thing 😀

Thanks for the compliment, and congrats to yourself in return. Hopefully, our team will be back in MoP with more achievements (even if they aren’t server firsts). =]

Also: Missed out on that Heroic Raggy kill? That must have hurt =\

Big congrats from an American resto sham who randomly stumbled upon this blog from one of your comments on Life in Group 5! Some very interesting and informative posts, and links to EU forum discussions I hadn’t read. Shoutout to the internet for making this possible. Appreciate the effort you put into it Stoove, can never have enough quality resto sham opinions / blogs / sources.

Glad to know you found it useful! Also interested to know that I’m getting views from LiG5 of all places (thanks for the tip!) I have a post in the works for what Resto Shaman should take into MoP. Check back at the weekend =)

The raggy hc kill hurt me more as a raid leader and completest than anything else , we put a lot of tries into it pre patch but we kept failing at the same old things .. badly spread dps unable to take all the spawns before the hammer , with not enough paladins for the stuns.

Then when dragon soul came out the temptation for new content was too much to keep my team motivated to do it , With new content out people lost the motivation to sign to it especially as farming for the second legendary was involved as well and mean full clears over an over i was hoping to try and get people to do it now but people have drifted away a little.

Massive congrats on your 2nd first creating something of value which is then considered significant by peers is one of the biggest achievements in life and when you put as much of yourself into a project it takes on a life which cant be explained to most people … my partner and our guilds hunter’s is a socio-criminologist Ma and looking onwards to her doctorate … her biggest goal in life is to be regularly cited by her peers , lets hope one day you will be too.

Well for me, knowing the pain one has to go through as a raid leader (I led a Normal 10’s team through T11), I entirely sympathise! 🙂

Thanks for the compliments and encouragement (it’s been a good week for me!) – hopefully you’ll continue to find good things here.
